E. Coli Colorado Springs Ground Beef

Recall 064-2016 Labels

Good Food Concepts LLC, doing business as Ranch Foods Direct of Colorado Springs, CO, is recalling almost 2,600 pounds of non-intact beefiness products that may be contaminated with Eastward. coli O157:H7, the U.Southward. Department of Agriculture'southward Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Tuesday.

Based on epidemiological investigation, one case-patient has been identified in Colorado in connection to the beef. That person became sick on June 12.

The products subject to recall bear institution number "EST. 27316" inside the USDA marker of inspection and "PACKED ON" dates of June half-dozen, vii, and 8. These items were shipped to wholesale and retail locations in Colorado. FSIS was notified of an East. coli O157:H7 disease perhaps associated with ground beefiness consumption on July xiv. Working in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the El Paso Canton Public Health Department, FSIS determined a possible link between the ground beefiness products from Ranch Foods Directly and this disease. The investigation has identified one case-patient in Colorado with an disease onset date of June 12.

Through laboratory testing and traceback investigation, FSIS confirmed on July 25 that ground beef products originating from Ranch Foods Direct were adulterated with East. coli O157:H7. FSIS continues to work with the Colorado Department of Public Wellness and Surround and the El Paso County Public Health Department on this investigation and will provide updated information equally it becomes available.

FSIS and the company are concerned that some production may be frozen and in consumers' freezers. Consumers who take purchased these products are urged not to consume them. FSIS advises all consumers to safely prepare their raw meat products, including fresh and frozen, and only swallow ground beef that has been cooked to a temperature of 160 degrees F.
